Saving Romania’s Death Row Dogs

O.U.R Dog Foundation is dedicated to saving dogs from public shelters who profit from euthanasia.

Who are we?

We are O.U.R Dog Foundation

We are an APHA approved importer who rescue dogs from kill shelters and off the streets of Romania and then find them loving UK homes.

Our dogs are:

  • Thoroughly assessed before adoption

  • Fully vaccinated against DHPPI, rabies and kennel cough

  • Neutered (if of age)

  • Microchipped

  • Bood tested for a range of diseases including brucellosis

  • Flea treated

  • Wormed

  • Transported by an 'APHA approved' transport company directly to the adopter/foster home

We have dogs of all ages, shapes and sizes including child tested and cat friendly dogs.

Adoption fee applies and varies depending on the age and location of the dog.

We provide lifetime rescue backup for all dogs.

Our mission is to…

  • Raise awareness of the plight of the stray dogs across Romania and the public kill shelters that operate to profit from euthanasia, where dogs often killed in the most inhumane of ways

  • Find sponsors for dogs so that they are able to leave the public shelter and be placed in a safe shelter;

  • Fundraise for vaccines, microchips and internal transport for the dogs to the safe shelter;

  • Build relationships and offer support to the local volunteers who are the team on the ground working with the public shelters daily;

  • Provide accommodation for dogs from public shelters by building kennels on land owned by our trusted partners in Romania;

  • Work with reputable Romanian fosters to find homes in the UK for dogs that are ready for adoption.

What we stand for

O.U.R Dog Foundation was set up by a small group of like-minded individuals who all strive for the same goal: to save public shelter dogs in Romania from certain death.

The public shelters in particular are:

Ovidiu, on the east coast of Romania;

Uricani, in the mountains in the west;

Roman, in the north east.

OUR Amazing Romanian Fosters

  • Alina and her husband foster our dogs in Uricani, which is a mountainous and forest area in western Romania.

  • Cornelia and her team look after our dogs in South West Bucharest.

  • Alina and her husband foster our dogs in Buzau, close to Bucharest.

  • Based in Bacau, Gabriela fosters many dogs for OUR including many who need extra care because of fear and anxiety.
