Could you become an emergency foster?

Within the past few days, we have had two difficult dogs surrendered back to us with a history of reactivity.

Only the most experienced and patient people can help us with dogs like these, where they hopefully, in a quiet home environment, could begin to rehabilitate. But experienced dog owners like these are few and far between, especially in times like these where so many dogs are being given up by people in desperate situations.

Another option could be kennels - not ideal but better than adopters getting so desperate that they resort to having the dogs pts. However, the average cost per dog is at least £10 per night, just for bed & board with no rehabilitation or real interaction, and even then we simply don’t have the funds.

This month we have almost completely run out of money once our bills are paid. We have NEVER been in this position before. So what do we do? This is the reality we are all living with now in rescue and we don’t have enough funds to survive long term.

Please, please share this post for us especially if you have friends and/or family who are:

  • Experienced dog owners who may be willing to foster a dog and help to work through their issues;

  • Dog lovers who would never want to see a healthy dog pts or sent back to Romania, who might send us an emergency donation to try to help us find some sort of a solution to these seemingly impossible problems

Above all, pray with us that the transport ban ends next month so that we can start to lower our numbers and therefore foster costs in Romania and fetch over the poor pups who are so desperately wanted by their new families in the UK (please be reassured that all adoption fees and deposits paid are in a separate safe space).
