OUR Homemade Christmas Treats
To make a dog-friendly liver cake, you will need:
500g lamb’s liver
1 to 2 eggs (depending on their size)
150g of spelt or gluten free flour
Blend all ingredients together until it reaches a cake-mixture consistency, then pour onto a baking tray lined with non-stick paper. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 190C / 375F / Gas mark 5 for 30 to 45 minutes. Allow to cool, then cut into pieces.
Use within 5 days, or freeze until needed, then use within 3 days once defrosted.
Too squeamish to cook with liver? Why not try some no-bake sweet potato and apple balls? Mash together a cup of mashed, cooked sweet potato with half a cup of grated apple (no pips) and 1 cup of rolled oats. Add 2 tablespoons of unsalted peanut butter* and mix to combine. Place in the fridge for an hour to firm up, then serve!
* Use dog-friendly no xylitol peanut butter!
