OUR Rescue Mission
April was a busy month for OUR Dog Foundation.
Our wonderful Romanian foster Alina was alerted to an abandoned dog and her tiny pups, found under a bridge. At around just 10 days old, we were worried that if the rain came, the pups wouldn't be old enough to survive, so we had to get them to safety as quickly as possible. We named the mum Bridgette, and her three pups Bert, Frida and Edgar, using the theme of the Billy Goats Gruff!
After putting an appeal on Facebook and Instagram, our supporters have been amazing as usual, and we raised enough money to ensure that Alina could take them into her shelter.
We had only just rescued the Bridge Pups and their mum when another group of dogs was brought to our attention - 5 beautiful pups and their mum found abandoned by a train track and rescued again by Alina and her husband. Mum Clarabell was guarding her 5 week old pups that we couldn't resist naming Thomas, Percy, Henry, Toby and Emily after Thomas the Tank Engine characters.
All of these rescued dogs are now safe at Alina's shelter, but we desperately need to find sponsors for the dogs to ensure they can be fed and cared for. Anyone that sponsors one of these dogs will have the first option to adopt.
