Sunday Success: Angus’ Story
Meet Angus, a little survivor who’s overcome more than most. Found in Romania, Angus had endured unimaginable cruelty at the hands of those who should have loved him. Beaten so severely that he was left virtually blind, the images we received before his treatment at the vets were among the most heartbreaking we’ve ever seen.
After some much-needed recuperation and love in Romania, we wondered whether Angus could adapt to life in a family home. Could he live safely with other pets or children despite his limited eyesight?
Then came Lauren and her family, including their previous O.U.R. rescue dog, Iggy. Determined to give Angus the love and security he so deserved, they opened their home and hearts to him—and how right they were!
Lauren shares:
*"When we saw the first photos and video shared by O.U.R., we instantly felt for him. He had one eye, was a little ball of fuzz, and just wanted some love.
Knowing his traumatic background, we knew we could help bring him some well-deserved happiness. He joined us on the 1st of March and, after a few quiet days, it felt like he’d always been here.
Angus is the bossiest, cheekiest, and most determined little thing. Despite being blind, he’s fearless. He loves walks, food, and a cosy jumper too. He quickly learned his way around the house, even managing stairs and jumping up on sofas and beds. He’s got a sweet habit of climbing into my bed at 3 a.m. to stay warm until morning!
He adores playing with my son and could eat as much as his big brother, Iggy, who’s three times his size! Iggy, who’s never been a fan of other dogs, accepted Angus surprisingly well. He even helps Angus know when the treats are out!
Angus charms everyone he meets, though he’s quick to let you know if you stop petting him—that’s just not acceptable! He’ll happily sit on your lap all night if you let him. With his crash hat on, he’s unstoppable, bumping into things but never letting it slow him down.
He’s been a joy from day one—a testament to the strength, forgiveness, and endless love animals have. We couldn’t be without him!”*
Thank you, Lauren, for giving Angus the chance to live his best life, and for showing him what true love feels like.
