Sunday Success: Mystic’s Story

**Mystic's Sunday Success Story**

🐾 It’s been over a year since Mystic, the last sibling from her litter, found her forever home with Abie and her wonderful family 🐾

Mystic’s journey from Romania to the UK was complete when she became the final pup of her litter to be adopted, and she’s been thriving ever since. Over the past year, she’s been showered with love, cuddles, and endless playtime, fitting in perfectly with her new family.

Here’s what Abie had to say about the beautiful Mystic…

“Before finding Mystic, I had shown my husband so many dogs on Instagram. He kept saying that he ‘didn’t want a dog’, ‘we don’t have room for a dog’, ‘I don’t want to walk a dog everyday’. And then we saw Mystic. She was the only dog that made his heart melt.

I found Mystic through Facebook. All of her siblings had left Romania and her remaining her brother, Beano,  had managed to find a home and was on the May happy bus. Mystic was sadly left behind. I instantly felt a need to give her a home – she was fluffy and adorable, and I hated the idea of her being the only sibling without a home. We continued to debate the practicality of getting a dog while the clock ticked down to get her onto the next bus. We had cats and we were obviously worried about them if she wasn’t cat friendly.

We sadly missed the cut off for the May happy bus, and I think missing that deadline made us truly realise how much we wanted to adopt her. I messaged O.U.R Dog Foundation and asked if anyone had adopted her while we dithered. We were lucky that she was still available, and on the 13th of May, 2023 I sent them a message saying ‘Success’. I’d managed to convince my husband, and I put an application in.

After going through all the due diligence – which was amazingly thorough, we finally were able to adopt her. The team completely put pur mind at ease by sending us multiple videos of her interacting with cats which really helped.

She arrived on the 9th of June. To begin with she was nervous, as you can imagine. I spent quite a bit of time with her, listening to calm music and just being around her. As we have 2 cats and wanted the introduction to be a success, we decided to take the entire process very slowly. It took about a month for us to get them in the same room without a divider. We were so happy that we took the time as they now get on really well.

We have now had Mystic for a year and a half, in which time we also had a little boy. She has been the most incredible addition to our family. Her gentle, quirky and loving nature shines through when she licks our son and plays with the cats.

Of course she still is nervous around new people, loud noises, fireworks, thunder etc. but 90% of the time she's a playful dancing queen (she loves to jump up and give you a hug) 😊 Every day she just gets more confident to the point where can now take her on longer car journeys and let her off the lead. We can't wait for more amazing adventures with her!

Adopting Mystic was one of the best things we have ever done, and we appreciate how lucky we are to have her!”

It’s heartwarming to see how well Mystic has settled into her forever home, and we’re so grateful to Abie for giving her the life she truly deserves. Here’s to many more years of happiness for Mystic and her family! ❤️
