Sunday Success: Ringo’s Story

🌟 **Sunday Success Story: Ringo (was Olaf)** 🌟

Ringo’s journey to happiness wasn’t without its challenges, but his story proves that the right home can make all the difference.

After arriving from Romania in June 2024, Ringo had a false start with his first adopter, where he struggled to find his confidence. Thankfully, Daisy, Reece, and their dog Bernie stepped in as foster carers in July. With Bernie by his side to show him the ropes, Ringo slowly began to come out of his shell.

It didn’t take long for Daisy and Reece to realize their home wouldn’t be complete without him. Just a few weeks later, they officially became failed fosters and welcomed Ringo into his forever family.

Six months on, Ringo is thriving, happier than ever, and loving life as Bernie’s little brother. 💕

Here’s what Daisy had to say about their new addition…

“Ringo (was Olaf) came to us as he had struggle to settle without a fury companion after coming to the UK. We knew from the offset that it would be a little bit of a trickier transition due to his situation, and truthfully we were a little nervous but willing to help and develop him into his best self if we could.

When Ringo arrived he didn’t show any signs of wanting to be near us or interact during his decompression stage. He struggled to be around males and was after very timid and shy. We were a little worried but tried our best to follow the guideline & had a lot of support from OUR to ensure we were doing what we could.

After a few days in the kitchen (his safe space) he decided to hop over our baby gate and join our other dog Bernie in the living room, which completely took us by surprise! They have been inseparable since.

After a few weeks, Ringo was feeling a lot more comfortable around Reece (his dog dad) and now loves nothing more than having a cuddle with him on the sofa.

Ringo has shown his personality more every single day he has been here, and has the funniest habits we have ever seen in a dog! Whether it’s shouting at the bottom of the stairs in a morning until we come down, or getting zoomies on the garden, he never fails to make us laugh. Ringo is now enjoying safe walks with his brother, he loves a toy and is a sucker for a teddy bear.

We could not be more thankful for OUR Dog Foundation for allowing us to have Ringo. He is our first rescue dog and it is safe to say there really is something special about the love they give.

We are so excited to see what adventure we end up having, and cannot wait to make more memories with our boys!”

Thank you, Daisy and Reece, for giving Ringo the love, patience and the second chance that he needed. Stories like this remind us why we do what we do. 🐾
