Milo: 1 year, 9 months, medium
Meet Milo – A Fun-Loving Companion Ready for His Forever Home
Milo is a bright, playful, and affectionate 1 year, 9-month-old male weighing 20kg. This handsome boy is full of life and joy, and he’s searching for a loving home where he can continue to thrive.
Milo gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playful interactions. While he can be a bit boisterous during playtime, he’s good at reading signals from other dogs to know when they want to engage or when they’ve had enough. He could happily live with another friendly dog or be just as content as the only dog in the home.
Currently, Milo lives with a cat but does have a playful urge to chase, so he would do best in a home with no cats or only a very dog-savvy cat who can set clear boundaries.
Milo is wonderful with children of all ages—the youngest he’s met was just 1 year old—and he’s always happy to play with them. He’s had many young visitors to the home and even snuggled up to sleep on the bed with his young nephew when he came to stay.
While Milo is generally very friendly, he has shown some mild food guarding around other dogs, so he should be fed separately to avoid any tension. Early on, he also displayed some mild owner-guarding behaviour, sitting close and growling slightly when the other dog approached. Fortunately, this stopped quickly once the owner calmly intervened, and he no longer shows this behaviour.
Milo is fantastic on walks—he loves group walks and is sociable with other dogs, showing no signs of reactivity. He walks beautifully on a lead or harness, doesn’t pull, and also does well on a long line. His recall is decent but not yet 100%, though his dog walker regularly lets him off lead.
Milo adores people and is usually very friendly, though he can be a little wary of tall men at first. With a little time, he warms up beautifully.
One area Milo needs some support is being left alone. While he settles after some initial whining, he becomes agitated and may bark or become destructive if left for more than about 3.5 hours. He enjoys food puzzle toys, which help keep him busy, but ideally, he needs a home where he won’t be left alone for more than 2–3 hours at a time.
Milo will come to his new home with a full set of essentials, including a collar, harness, normal and long leads, dog shampoo, Furminator brush, food and water bowls, tins of food, biscuits, flea and worm treatments, toys, glow-in-the-dark collar, chews/treats, and even a towel if needed.
This cheerful, affectionate boy is eager to find a home where he’ll be loved, played with, and cherished. Could you be the one Milo’s been waiting for?
