🐾 Sunday Success - Sonny 🐾

After the news article posted by the BBC this week, we have been so happy with the outpouring of support we have received from our adopters. This message from Sonny particularly touched our hearts and we wanted to say a huge thank you to Cat for getting in touch and sharing his words!

I’ve been sniffing around the news and saw folks calling dog adoption into question - talking about dogs being shipped in like a “Deliveroo delivery,” from abroad, sometimes sloppily or without proper checks. They say it’s a mess. But that’s NOT me.

Let’s get one thing straight: I’m not a courier puppy. I’m a responsibly matched rescue, picked carefully by a licensed rescue (not some unregulated import scheme) that made sure I was a good fit. That made sure my Hooman was a good fit for me.

Yes, some rescues have been flagged in the media - That’s not the whole rescue world. Not the one that saved me. I came to my family through a CIC that required thorough checks and gives post‑placement support – real care, not a delivery transaction.

Here’s what sets me apart:

🐾 Proper licensing & vetting – The rescue was fully registered and followed UK protocols.

🐾 Health screening and follow‑up – They checked for issues, vaccinated me, made sure I was fit to travel and ensured my new Hooman understood my future health care needs.

🐾 Home and Hooman assessment – My hoomans had to meet standards and prove they were ready for me – no instant drop‑off parcels here.

🐾 Ongoing support – I wasn’t just dropped off; the rescue stays in touch, helps if there are adjustment issues, and backs up my family long term.

So yeah, there are real problems when dogs get whisked over with minimal checks or imported by outfits running like businesses – with sensational press calling that a “deliveroo” setup. But that's not what responsible rescue looks like. I’m living proof that rescue adoption can be thoughtful and loving – matched for life, not shipped for desire.

Love from my forever home
Sonny the responsibly rescued pup
