A Rescue Crisis: Devastating News

We were hoping for good news yesterday that the ongoing ban on animal transport from Romania, the Ukraine, Poland and Belarus to the UK would be lifted. Devastatingly, that has not happened and the ban has been extended until at least 9th July 2022. APHA/DEFRA are citing an ongoing rabies risk as the reason but we all know that it’s the actions of a select few transporters/traces centres and their dodgy dealings that have now effectively condemned all the honest, hardworking rescue organisations to bankruptcy (and a whole lot of helpless Romanian dogs to euthanasia).

It will be a struggle to keep OUR afloat and we may have to cease to function, all because of the greed of the ‘rescues’ who have failed to comply with regulations. All of the dogs who were due to travel during April to July are now effectively trapped in shelters in Eastern Europe instead of them travelling to their forever homes as planned.

The OUR team are all heartbroken, not only for these dogs but also for their prospective new adopters, who were excitedly awaiting their new family members.

In desperation, we’re begging you to help us. Please, please find it in your hearts to donate, or even sponsor a dog, so we can keep them safe while they are now ‘trapped’ in Romania for the next two months. We know times are hard but it’s just £38 a month to keep them alive until we can help to get them out.

Ways that you can help:

  • If you feel you would like to sponsor one of these poor souls, then please message our page and visit Our Shop to setup ur monthly sponsorship donations.

  • Alternatively, you could set up a regular monthly donation.

  • You can also send a one-off donation to us via PayPal (friends and family)

  • You can also donate through our Starling bank account:
Account Name: O.U.R DOG FOUNDATION C.I.C.
    Sort Code: 60-83-71

    Account No: 92722431

IT REALLY IS A DESPERATE SITUATION: PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN.
