Foster Focus: Meet Sarah

Sarah is our resident super foster turned volunteer! She is amazing at stepping up for dogs in their time of need, no matter if she has her hands full already! We asked her about fostering with us.

Why do you foster?

“Fosters are hard to find, and the most common reason for this is that people don’t feel like they would be able to say goodbye to a dog once they have had it in their home. For me, I don’t think about the goodbyes. I want to live in the moment with them. I want them to feel safe, comfortable, and experience what it’s like to be a loved and a spoilt dog. I like the excitement of not knowing what my next foster will be like”

What is it like fostering for OUR?

“As a foster, I am fully supported by the team at O.U.R. They regularly check in with me and are always interested in not only the dog I’m fostering but also how I am doing. They offer training advice, guidance for any behavioural issues, and emotional support for when the day comes, and I have to say goodbye“
