Meet April! Formerly known as Juni, this sweet girl captured our hearts when she was found on the streets of Romania with her striking blue eyes and gentle demeanor.
Despite not planning to take in more dogs at the time, we couldn't turn away from Juni's plight. Found near a market stall during freezing weather, we knew she deserved a chance at a loving home.
After some much-needed care from Alina and Bianca, including spaying and health checks, Juni blossomed into a playful and affectionate pup. But it was when Leonie crossed paths with her that Juni's journey truly transformed.
Leonie, her now amazing forever mum, and her daughter instantly fell in love with April and saw beyond any medical issues. Now, April enjoys a life filled with love, cuddles, and adventures, thanks to Leonie and her family’s kind hearts and dedication to her.
Here’s what Leonie had to say about her new family member:
‘I had actually just lost out on the dog I so desperately wanted to adopt and when photos of other dogs came through I was a bit blinkered so I showed my teenage daughter. She loved April from the second she saw her blue eyes. I wasn’t sure but the more videos I saw the more I thought how gentle she seemed and there were stories behind those eyes. The family wanted some thing smaller but I wanted a partner on outdoor adventures as I’m a trail runner and triathlete. Turns out there couldn’t possibly be another dog more perfect for us.
April is a softy but she’s got some serious spark. I literally cannot imagine our home and my life without this mountain goat sprinting cuddle rascal in it. She has completed us in a way I never thought possible. And she was 1000% the right pup for us. I’m eternally grateful to Our Dog Foundation for uniting me with her. She’s my shadow, my running buddy and my cuddles after a long hard day of work. Just perfect. Thank you
