Sunday Success: Bailey’s Story

It's time for another heartwarming Sunday Success Story! Let us share with you the heartwarming journey of Bailey (formerly Zoomy) and how she found her forever family.

Bailey and her littermates—Zoomy, Zippy, Dart, Dash, Duracell, Sonic, and Jet—were abandoned and left to fend for themselves in Romania when they were just small puppies. If they hadn’t have been discovered, they’d have surely died out there in the harsh Romanian mountains.

Despite their energy and playful nature, the ‘Battery Pups’ remained overlooked by potential adopters for months, which meant another rescue who had been supporting them, withdrew their financial support and left them with Alina. That’s when OUR Dog Foundation stepped in to help.

After a few more months, we met Donna, along with her sons Christian and Maxim, and their dog Louie, who was in need of a companion. Donna instantly connected with Zoomy, now known as Bailey, and with some adjustments to their garden to accommodate Bailey's spirited nature, she made the journey to her new home in the UK.

Since arriving, Bailey has settled in beautifully and is cherished as a beloved member of Donna's family. Not only that, but Donna also welcomed Bailey's sibling, now called Herbie, into their home through fostering.

Here’s Donna’s story…

“Can’t believe we’ve had Bailey for nearly one whole year! She’s an absolute star!

Initially, she was absolutely terrified of everything and her first walk lasted all of two minutes! Now, she loves ‘walkies’ especially if she sees a squirrel! She’s so loving and loves to give everyone kisses! She’s also incredibly curious and nosy and loves to sniff everyone who walks past her!

Recently, she’s learnt to sit and give her paw as she knows she gets a treat! We can’t say enough about this little Miss Dynamite! We’re so lucky to have her. So much so, we’ve now got her brother! 🥰”

A big thank you to Donna and her family for their dedication to Bailey (and Herbie) and for opening their hearts and home to these deserving pups.

While Bailey has now found a loving homes, not all of her siblings have been as fortunate. Duracell and Dart are still waiting patiently for their chance to be part of a family in the UK.
