Freya & Zelda: 7 months & 5 years, large

Meet Zelda & Freya, a very special mum and daughter who we would love to find a forever home together

Zelda is 5 years old and around 30kg, while Freya is her 7-month-old daughter who is already growing into a large girl. Zelda spent much of her life as a chain dog. When she became pregnant, her owner wanted to kill both her and her newborn puppies with antifreeze. Thankfully, they were rescued in time, although heartbreakingly Zelda later lost three of her puppies. Her only son is in the UK and thriving, that leaves mum and daughter to find their happy ending.

Through everything, Zelda and Freya have remained a team. They spend their days together exploring the shelter, rarely far from one another. Zelda is friendly, affectionate and confident around people, while Freya is more reserved and looks to her mum to show her that things are safe. Because Freya relies so heavily on Zelda, we feel they may really struggle if separated. We know finding a home for two large dogs together is a big ask, but these girls have already been through so much. We would love their next chapter to be one they start side by side.

Both girls will travel fully prepared with all required vaccinations, testing, microchips, parasite treatment and passports.

Zelda is spayed, and Freya will be spayed before travel if age appropriate at the time of transport. Could you give Zelda & Freya their happy ending?
