Spotlight Dogs: Neville’s Story
Hi everyone! It’s Neville here, I’m looking for a new home since I had to leave my last one due to my anxiety levels.
Let me tell you a little about me to see if we would get along.
I’m 3 years old and staying with my wonderful fosterer in Erdington. I’ve been there a little longer than I thought to be honest as I had a hiccup along the way. I found a new home but for some reason the resident dog didn’t like me and instead of being patient while we tried to be friends, my new mum didn’t give me a chance and asked for me to leave after just one night!
My fosterer came to pick me up and took me back to my comfy bed. She’s told me that I’m welcome to stay there as long as possible and to be honest I do like it there. I’ve learnt to like her cats, they were scary at first but now I’m friends with them.
Apparently I’m not as anxious as I thought I was, just need a little understanding and patience. I still find stairs terrifying but each day I walk pass them thinking to myself ‘one day’!
My old life had children around, I hope one day I’ll get to play with them some more as they were fun. I like my walks and saying hello to other dogs, I often walk past a family wondering if they are going to say hello and want to take me home….soon maybe.
After my walks, I love nothing more than climbing onto a warm sofa and having a cuddle with my foster mum. Sometimes I even get a cheeky chest rub which is amazing!
So, that’s a bit about me. Hopefully I will hear from you soon and I look forward to the day I get to show you how much I enjoy life.
