Herbie is looking for a forever foster

Can You Be Herbie's Hero?

We are looking for a loving forever foster home (female only) for this nervous but incredibly sweet two-year old dog. If you are looking for a dog as company, rather than cuddles, and not a fan of walking a dog - Herbie could be perfect for you! As a forever foster, you would commit to looking after him for the rest of his days, but vet fees and insurance would be covered by us - all we ask is he gets the home he needs, with comforts and is well looked after.

He would love a home where he can potter in a secure garden at his leisure, and have a room to himself to go to if any visitors should come over - he really likes his own space. Herbie would appreciate another dog for confidence, but prefers ones who aren’t overly playful or in his face. He will wear a harness, but won’t walk on a lead. This would make him perfect for anyone who isn’t a fan of dog walks!

He is currently in kennels, and although doing better than we expected, it’s not a substitute for a home environment. As a nervous dog, kennels is a highly stressful environment so we would love a forever foster to open their home to help him out.

Herbie arrived in the UK around a year ago and is struggling to adjust. The outside world overwhelms him, so he hasn't quite mastered walks yet. However, he's a clean pup who uses puppy pads perfectly!

Here's the scoop on Herbie:

  • He's shy around new people, but warms up to kind women.

  • No children or cats please.

  • He gains confidence with other dogs, so a canine companion would be ideal.

  • Once he learns to trust you, expect full-body wags.

  • He loves being outside, but can’t cope with walks just yet so a decent sized, secure garden is a must!

  • He is very nervous, and can be worried by changes in his environment, so experience with anxious dogs is essential

Is your calm, female-only household the perfect fit for Herbie? He is longing for an understanding woman who will let him come around in his own time, and not be offended if he’s never a cuddle bug! All he wants is a safe, warm home to mostly keep to himself in but feel the love on his terms.
